| Final results of the Electronic Contest! | (2008. 02. 24.) |
Finally, we have the final results of the electronic contest.
You can see the list here.
There was a small change in the points, because we had to re-calculate some scores in connection with the Problem H, with which there was some errors in our solution. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
| Contact us during the Electronic Contest | (2008. 02. 24.) |
You can contact us during the electronic contest in various ways:
- Everybody is subscribed with his or her email address to our mailing list:
We will read the emails coming to this list constantly during the EC. Also we will make announcements for everyone if needed. Probably this is the best way to ask, if you have a problem that could affect other teams too. - You can contact us privately by sending an email to thi address:

- We have created a Skype account: challenge24 where you can reach us, too.
- There is also an MSN account of the organizers, that can be found:
Please only use these addresses for reasonable purposes. We can not tell you how to solve a problem and we can not tell you what is wrong with your solution (please do not send source code or executables). However if you think that the wording of a problem is ambiguous, or an example solution is actually wrong, you should tell us about it.
| Electronic Contest servers | (2008. 02. 24.) |
As we previously wrote, there will be some different servers where you can upload your solutions during the Electronic Contest. These are:
http://152.66.242.228/
http://157.181.168.208:10000/
http://65.110.30.251/
You can upload your solutions to any of these servers, and you can switch to another server during the contest (the results are shared).
The problem set is available on these servers, too, but you will be able to read the password for the zip file any of them (and here too), at 10 a.m.
A little addition to the rules described below: points are awarded per output file and not per problem. If your solution only works for 9 of the 10 input files, you will still be awarded points for those 9 output files. A single output file however is either correct or wrong -- partially correct output files are not worth any points.
Good luck!
| Electronic Contest is almost here! | (2008. 02. 23.) |
As you probably know, tomorrow is the day of the Electronic Contest. It will start at 10 a.m. on 24 February, 2008 (CET). The final deadline for completng the team registration is 8 p.m. today (23 February, CET). The list of EC-ready teams will be published later this evening. We will also place here a link leading to a different website, which will manage the contest itself. You will have to log in to this site, too. For this you will have to use the login data of this site (email address and your password). Every team member will be able to login and upload solutions individually, but of course the team itself will receive the scores for it. Please be sure that you know your login data, because password replacement will be difficult tomorrow. (So if you don't know your password, ask for a reminder now :))
About the contest itself: you will have to solve some independent algorithmic problems tomorrow. Each will have multiple input data, and you will have to generate the proper output for them, and upload them to the website mentioned in the section above. We don't need neither the source codes nor any executable files of your programs that solve the problems, just the output. Teams who upload their solutions faster, will receive more points, but be careful, because if you upload a wrong solution, you will receive negative points.
The problem set will be available on the other website, in an encoded zip file. You will receive the password for it tomorrow at 10 a.m. (CET). We suggest to download it before the contest, in order to avoid problems from possible slow download rate because of the larger server load.
We will subscribe every Contestant to the mailing list of the contest:
this evening, in order to make the communication easier between the Contestants and the Organizers. Of course you will be able to contact us privately on the address:
.This year we want to do the Electronic Photo Contest again. About this you will find information in the previous post.
Good luck!
| Electronic Photo Contest - reloaded | (2008. 02. 23.) |
This year we would like to do the Electronic Photo Contest again. This is a "just for fun" part of the Challenge24. We ask every team to take some photos about themselves during the Electronic Contest, then upload it to the proper album of our Gallery. This link leads exactly there. You won't need to register, but please open a sub-album for your team, and upload your photos there. Please indicate your team's identity, too (team name or team ID). After the contest we will judge these pictures, and the team whose photos are the "best" (we will look their "ch24 feeling" :)) will receive some small gifts.
So prepare your cameras! :)
| Team registration is finished | (2008. 02. 18.) |
Dear Contestants!
The registration of new teams is just finished, so you no longer can form a new team. However new members can still register until 23 February, 8 p.m. and this is the dealine for finalizing your registration, too. The requirements of the EC READY status are the following:
- Three team members (team leaders must accept the request of the other team members)
- Each team member has to upload a CV and fill their Data sheet
- The Organizers have to accept the CV and Data sheet (CV OK, DATA OK status)
About CV and DATA checking: we have to read the CVs one by one, and it takes some time. Please be patient. You can help our job by uploading CVs matching the requirements described in the FAQ. After every CV check an email is sent to the uploader containing the status change.
| Registration deadline is almost here! | (2008. 02. 12.) |
Dear contestants!
The deadline for registration is 17, February, it's today. Closing the registration will mean that you won't be able to form a new team, however entering into an existing one will be possible. You will be able to modify your data and upload CVs, too.
We ask you to finalize your registration (upload CV, fill the data sheet) as soon as possible, because we need to check them before the Electronic Contest. The requirements for the CVs are described in the FAQ
The date of the Electronic Contest is 24, February. It starts at 10 a.m.CET (server time). Please complete your registration until 23 February 8 p.m. Only those teams will be allowed to compete in the Electronic Contest, that has an EC READY status before this deadline.
